Experience
David targets his law practice in litigation and disputes, representing banks, contractors, and individuals in commercial disputes and bankruptcy proceedings. He also represents injured workers and victims of other accidents, drawing on his unique perspective as a personal injury and workers' compensation defense attorney for several years prior to joining MGM in 2007. His experience working on both sides of the fence gives him the ability to look at each case and hone in its unique merits in the best interest of his clients, helping them set their sights for the best possible outcome.
David's commercial litigation and bankruptcy practice includes representation of developers, contractors and subcontractors in construction and contract disputes, and representation of lenders and other creditors in bankruptcy court and post-foreclosure collections. David spent two years in law school working as a Graduate Research Fellow on bankruptcy issues with Professor Richard Hynes (now at UVA Law School). His clients include developers, builders, electrical, concrete and site contractors, real estate companies, and banks. David employs creative asset discovery and representation at creditors' meetings in bankruptcy proceedings to investigate and maximize a creditor's recovery even when the debtor has gone bankrupt. He has successfully mediated construction disputes in bankruptcy court and has uncovered millions of dollars in undisclosed assets in bankruptcy cases as well.
Drawing on his prior experience in representing a number of large self-insured companies and major insurers on the defense side of injury cases, David also represents select personal injury victims in cases involving serious motor vehicle accidents, products liability, workplace injuries and intentional torts. His workers' compensation practice focuses on employees and workers who have been significantly injured or killed on the job. His clients range from international contractors and plant workers to white collar professionals and medical care professionals.
David works hard to help clients understand the legal system and negotiate through it. He walks his clients through what is going to happen, what to expect, and the range of potential outcomes in each case in order to help his clients make the best decisions.
