Brad’s varied experience includes service in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002-2006, where he sat on the Courts of Justice, Health Welfare & Institutions and Counties Cities & Towns committees, and also served as a member of the Virginia Housing Commission and the Mandated Health Benefits Commission. Among other achievements, Brad was the chief architect of the 2004 revision to Richmond’s city charter under which the city transformed to a “strong mayor” form of government unique in Virginia. Brad’s prior public service included serving on the state’s Child Day-Care Council from 1995-2001 and as Chesterfield County Escheator from 1994-96.
Brad has held a number of positions in politics over the years, including service on the Commerce secretariat transition team for then-Governor-elect James Gilmore in 1997-98 and as treasurer of both the Joint Republican Caucus of the Virginia General Assembly and the House Republican Campaign Committee in 2001. He has also been active in a number of community service organizations.
