SBA Lending

Our attorneys have had extensive experience representing national lenders offering financing available through programs sponsored and administered by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Our representation of SBA lenders began in 1997 initially with local representation of the forerunner of Business Loan Center. With BLC’s expansion to a national market, MGM’s representation also expanded nationally. From that beginning, we developed relationships with several of the largest SBA lenders in the country and work with them on a national level.

We have also represented other local bank SBA lenders and, for over ten years, MGM Law has closed thousands of business acquisition, working capital and other SBA loans. We have experience in the 7a, Express and 504 programs and also the USDA guaranteed loan programs. We have worked with our lenders, not only in closing loans, but also in workout, default and foreclosure situations. MGM is a member of NAGGL and also has a network of local attorneys in 46 of the 50 states if local counsel is needed for any reason.

Each of our SBA lenders has taken a different approach to closing loans. Some handled most of the closing function almost entirely internally. Others relied on MGM’s expertise and outsourced the closing process. Our staff has had several years, and many loans, experience working with borrowers, gathering and reviewing due diligence materials, and preparing and delivering loan packages. Our primary closer has had direct training in the closing process and is the leader of a core of staff and attorneys dedicated to closing SBA loans.

At MGM Law it is our goal to make the closing process and quick and comfortable as possible for both borrower and lender.
